Hi, welcome to my website. Here, you will find wildlife drawings I’ve made over the past few years.
A few words about myself. I’ve been a really keen birder since aged eleven. A big decision in life was whether to go to art school, or to study ecology at university and work in conservation. I decided on the second and have worked as an ecologist for the RSPB since 1996. I pretty much gave up doing artwork until recently.
I’ve always wanted to draw birds in the field, though, and was particularly inspired by a day out on the Norfolk Coast many years ago with the late, great Greg Poole https://gregpoole.co.uk/. I think Greg’s artwork is wonderful, and everything that wildlife art should be – his pictures brilliantly capture the colour, movement and beauty of nature. I think you can only do this very well by drawing from life. The trouble was that, no matter how much I tried with a pencil and paper, I was terrible at drawing birds from life!

Then, a few years ago, my mother-in-law introduced me to drawing on a tablet using a stylus. It’s a great way to quickly sketch and capture colour in the field. Also, if there’s a risk of overworking a picture (which I’m prone to doing), you can make a copy of the picture and continue drawing on this second version. If you overwork this, you can return to the first copy. I use a very simple drawing app called ‘Brushes’. My golden rule is to never work from photographs.
It’s really worth having a go at drawing from life on a tablet. It can take a bit of time to get used to, but it’s certainly greatly improved my observation skills, as well as increasing my wider appreciation of colour, line and composition. And it’s made me re-discover and appreciate many common birds, which I hadn’t looked at properly for a long time.

Feadship motor yacht Miss Iloilo (ex Golden Rule) is 39,62 meters or 130 feet in length with a beam of 8,10m (26,6 Ft).
The steel displacement yacht is was launched back in 1986 by the Feadship shipyard and her naval architect was Fritz de Voogt International.
On Miss Iloilo the main deck hosts a six seat breakfast bar which has been finished in rare Italian marble. This part of the yacht is equipped with a galley as connected via a dumb waiter. The Miss Iloilo yacht’s main interior dining area is to aft and it has seating for up to 12 guests around a large rectangular table. A decorative glass partition separates the dining area from the main salon and the yacht’s main salon has 2 large sofas plus an entertainment center and baby grand piano.
Able to accommodate up to 10 guests overnight (in 2 Double and 3 Twin Cabins) and 12 whilst day cruising the motor yacht also has a crew of around 7 professionals.
M/Y Miss Iloilo’s Aft Deck: Going out of the yacht’s main salon onto the aft deck (air-conditioned) there is tables and seating for twelve guests. The motor yacht’s aft deck is complete with a full wet bar and sliding windows and plastic screens allow the area to be fully enclosed or completely open.
Her Upper Deck: There is an upper deck powder room on this level and a large sun shaded dining area with custom made dining table and seating for 12. A large sofa is aft of this area and her the tenders and water toys are positioned on either side of this sofa.

The Sun Deck: Going up a solid stairway there is a very large sun deck with a multi positioning sun bed, a four person hot tub with plasma screen TV and 2 lounge chairs.
